TAW VELO CYCLING CLUB

A friendly club that meets to ride in North Devon

Taw Velo is an independent cycling club based in North Devon, England, to promote and encourage all aspects of cycling. No one aspect of cycling is promoted at the expense of any other. Our members take part in road racing, cycling touring, club rides, time trials, track racing, cyclosportives and mountain biking. We hope to make participation in cycling become a regular habit, and want more people to take part in our club's activities. We have regular club rides all year round. Read more about Taw Velo in our FAQ.

Taw Velo is a club that caters for cyclists of all ages and abilities. We have achieved British Cycling's highest standard for clubs and have been awarded Sport England's Clubmark, which is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. The club was formed with a view so that members can get on with riding their bikes and racing. The membership is drawn mostly from the North Devon area, but we have members from across Devon.

We are affiliated to British Cycling and the CTT.

We promote Road races, cyclo x and mountain bike races each year for adult and youth riders. Because we are a small club, all members are expected to be available to help, and they do.

The club currently has just under 100 members in the age range 8 - 71. As the club grows our range of interest has broadened and we try to accommodate all types of cycling. New members are welcome, even if you are a total novice. See our MEMBERSHIP page or why not come along to one of our club runs starting at the North Devon Leisure Centre on a Sunday to RIDE with us. Check out our FAQ section for further information.

Taw Velo is part of British Cycling's South Western Division.
